Things We Wish More Clients Knew Before Their Photo Shoot

Let me be blunt: your brand photoshoot is not the time to toss your favorite clothes into a gym bag and hope for the best. I love you, I do—but if I had a dollar for every wrinkled shirt or leftover sunglass indentation I’ve had to Photoshop…
We’re talking about branding photography, not a family portrait session or senior pics. You’re investing in the face of your business. These are the photos that will show up on your website, your social media, even your LinkedIn profile. So yes—it matters.
If I could shout three things from the rooftops to prep you for your session, it’d be this:
Steam. Your. Clothes.
Especially if you’re bringing more than one outfit. Don’t fold them and throw them in the backseat—hang them up, bring them prepped, and treat your future self to fewer editing regrets.
For the love of light—skip the transition glasses.
And while we’re on the topic, please don’t wear sunglasses on your way to the shoot. They leave red marks on your nose and cheeks that last longer than you’d think. (I promise I’m not mad, I’m just trying to save us both some post-processing heartache.)
Jewelry matters.
Ladies—bring a few swaps. Necklines change, colors shift, and a bold earring or dainty necklace can totally transform the look. A little prep goes a long way.
We’ll make magic no matter what. But when you show up polished and prepared, we can focus on confidence, connection, and getting you the kind of images that actually move the needle for your brand.
